More Info:
Bryn Meurig Bach is a real hideaway in the Snowdonia National Park. In the foothills of Cader Idris, less than a mile from Fairbourne Beach, this stone-built cottage is away-from-it-all enough to feel like a real countryside escape, whilst still being less than a mile from shops, a pub, a narrow gauge railway and train and bus connections.
Situated right on the Wales Coast Path, adjacent to Bryn Meurig Farmhouse, there are plenty of mountain, hill and easy walks right from your doorstep, whether you prefer the challenge of climbing Cader Idris, visiting Blue Lake or Cregennan Lakes, an easy stroll through ancient oak woodland or crossing the Barmouth Bridge Viaduct for incredible views of the Mawddach Valley. Expect to see plenty of wildlife whilst you're here.
The cottage is perfect for walking, cycling, mountain biking, adventure and romantic getaways. With a choice of 4 different restaurants/takeaways, 2 grocery shops, a deli, a 9-hole golf course and an ice cream shop/amusement arcade in the village, you don't need to go far to find entertainment. It's also within easy reach of Barmouth (3 miles on foot, 13 miles by car), Dolgellau (9 miles) and Aberdovey (15 miles), all of which are definitely worth exploring.
Well-equipped and comfortable, with everything you need to have a relaxing break. The kitchen has an electric oven, gas hob, fridge, microwave and all the usual utensils etc. The shower room is on the ground floor and has a large shower, sink and WC. Selection of books, DVDs and games available. The owners are always on hand if there is anything else you need.
Dog Policy- We LOVE dogs. We welcome up to 2 well-behaved dogs for no extra charge. If you have more than 2 dogs, you are welcome to call us to discuss before booking, we just don't want you to be cramped in the cottage! If your dog likes to go on the sofa, please use the throws provided. Please keep dogs downstairs if possible, and especially off the bed. There is an enclosed private garden but please bear in mind that we are next door to a working sheep farm, so dogs will need to be kept on a lead in the yard.
Accessibility- please note there are steps up to the front door, 3 steps between living room and kitchen and steep steps to mezzanine bedroom. We don’t recommend this cottage for the less mobile, although we are hoping to offer more accessible accommodation in the future.
Please Note- we are off the beaten track. This cosy cottage is accessed via an uneven track, about 200 yards long.
